Day 224 - August 12th

Today was Wayne's birthday so he chose how we spent the day. He chose for us to visit the Llaneli Wetland Centre. This was another place we had visited previously but we had such a good time on the previous occasion that it was well worth a second visit.

We started our day on the canoes. 

Wayne and Lara took one canoe.

Steven and I took another.

While were were navigating the waterways Steven and I came across a family of swans and had to do some swan herding!

After the canoes and after a visit to the cafe, we picked up some bikes for a ride round the Millennium Wetlands.

Steven and Wayne decided to use a Tandem, although we all had a go. We came to the conclusion that Wayne was the only one we trusted (and was able) to be in front steering the tandem!

After handing back the bikes we walked round the rest of the centre feeding the birds and enjoying being outside in the sunshine.

The hedgerows and edges of the paths were full of ripening blackberries and wild flowers

It was a lovely day which we finished off with a BBQ back at the house, birthday cake and watching the Perseids meteor Shower.
