We currently live next to a building site. We used to live next to a sheltered housing complex for elderly people but the Housing Association and planners (in their infinite wisdom) decided the complex was past it's sell by date and that family houses were needed instead. So the site was cleared and a number of family size homes are in the process of being built. I thought it would be interesting to take a photo from this same spot several times during the year to see the changing view. the new homes are expected to be completed by the summer.
The two bare trees when in leaf will screen some of the view.

It will be interesting to see the changes as they happen Karen. My Mum is in the same sort of situation. They have demolished the manufacturing company that was next to her and are now building a massive 94 bed nursing home that will be specialising in dementia. The new building is a lot bigger, but I have to say nicer....and on the plus side will definately be quieter to live next to. Good luck with it all xx
